What's all the Book Buzz
The Awakening of Malcolm X
This novel is an intimate look at Malcolm X's young adult years told by his doughter Ilyasah Shabazz with Tiffany D. Jackson
Caste
The Origin of Our Discontents
Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is timely, well researched, and well written. A masterful, infuriating, heart-breaking book! This is an exceptional study of how caste is organized and is sometimes a better lens for looking at discrimination than race.

Editor's Choice
Will Smith is an actor, producer, musician, son, husband, father, Grammy award, NAACP and Academy Award winner; in addition to being a global-God-damn-superstar who has enjoyed a diverse career incorporating film, television, and multi-platinum records.
This was a refreshing, insightful, honest, and unwavering memoir. Will leaves no stone unturned in the telling of his extraordinary life’s journey. Will Smith driving force in his life—is to absolutely win and he self-admitted his success is heroine, so he masks his insecurities and plays the game. In one of the first pages, Smith describes his persona as "the alien-annihilating MC, the bigger-than-life movie star, is largely a construction — a carefully crafted and honed character — designed to protect myself. To hide myself from the world. To hide the coward." The world loves Will for all the charm he showers all over you whenever he is on camera, and not the sob stories that seem to have defined his formative and later years.
This memoir is filled with comedy and emotional and inspiring moments. Will holds nothing back. Learning about his earliest family experiences gives you insight and understanding of how those experiences shaped his adult life. He shares a great deal about his immaturity and ego that led to more than a few mistakes that he learned and recovered from.
My favorite quote from Will’s book is "I heard a great saying once: Life is like school, with one key difference- in school, you get the lesson, and then you take the test. But in life, you get the test, and it's your job to take the lesson."
This was such an amazing read. This book made me laugh but also made me see that even larger-than-life celebrities go through troubles in their life.
